Business Development Representative

Porzio Life Sciences seeks a passionate full-time Business Development Representative to join our industry-leading Life Sciences Compliance technology organization on our Porzio Compliance Digest team. 

Key Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily sales call activity according to defined expectations - including cold-calling prospects in pharmaceutical, medical device, and biotech companies
  • Generate and promote lead-provoking emails to prospects that demonstrate Porzio Life Science’s unique solution: Porzio Compliance Digest
  • Coordinate and schedule 12+ appointments per month
  • Actively and effectively respond to inbound inquiries regarding our solutions
  • Coordinate customer demonstrations and webinars displaying our technologies
  • Effectively and persuasively communicate with prospects and customers using honed selling, listening, and negotiation skills and approved messaging
  • Establish and maintain a standardized approach and metrics for recording lead-generating activities
  • Provide superior customer service to prospects and customers
  • Identify gaps and risk issues as they relate to lead generation and sales processes
  • Be an integral member of the sales organization and an effective team player
  • Perform other pre-sales support as assigned

About You:

  • Confident, self-motivated, disciplined, and committed to successfully reaching your sales goals
  • Passionate about our client’s needs and have excellent listening, presentation, and selling skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and innovative 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communicator
  • Articulate and have a highly professional phone manner
  • Able to learn, understand, and communicate complex information over the telephone and in email
  • Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Self-starter who enjoys working in a small, rapidly changing, fast-paced environment

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience in healthcare/technology/startup sales environment preferred

Regional VP of Sales

What You Will Do:

We are looking for a Regional VP of Sales to join our team to represent our company through the highest level of values, including integrity, teamwork, and commitment to client success. The role is dedicated to managing larger existing accounts by continuously building and expanding trustworthy relationships and working closely with all key stakeholders to elevate and extend our company’s unique value proposition.

Reporting to the SVP of Sales of Porzio Life Sciences, the Regional VP of Sales will support a consultative team-oriented sales approach with responsibility for the following objectives:

Sales

  • Drive sales to named, larger existing healthcare organizations in North America.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all named customer account management matters
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Arrange C-Level meetings to discuss Porzio Life Science’s vision and roadmap
  • Develop new business with existing/new clients and/or identify areas of improvement to meet sales quotas
  • Work with other Platform Team members on joint sales presentations, plans & pricing
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Mainly responsible for sales activities related to the optimization of existing contracts with the target market for adding Porzio Life Sciences’ products and services
  • Satisfy needs identified for each buying influence
  • Make a compelling selling proposition to ultimate decision-maker
  • Manage time effectively to ensure regular and frequent contact with sales prospects
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Porzio Life Science’s products enabling the performance of effective sales activities
  • Demonstrate decisiveness on who to call and how often in order to provide consistent and effective contact with sales prospects
  • Supply customers with timely product information, proposals, and price quotes in order to fulfill sales expectations
  • Develop contracts to formalize the terms of the relationship between Porzio Life Sciences and existing clients
  • Meet sales goals relative to assigned markets or marketplace – exercise judgment in how to achieve sales goals
  • Work closely with Client Management and sales staff to coordinate expansion of sales to existing assigned client base across multiple product lines
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Conduct standard presentations and demos to introduce all products and services to existing clients
  • Maintain up-to-date presentations to meet last-minute requests of existing clients
  • Make minor adjustments to standard presentations to accommodate custom requests of existing clients
  • Recommend major changes to standard presentation and develop new presentations based on customer feedback and field experience

Marketing/Prospecting

  • The incumbent is responsible for promoting ongoing awareness of products and services across all key stakeholders of existing clients and initiating efforts to build solid relationships with external sources and affiliate organizations.
  • Working with the BDR team, formulate campaigns for identified existing assigned regions
  • Identify key stakeholders within existing client accounts in the target market through industry reading and other information sources
  • Identify the various buying influences within each targeted referral source
  • Maintain regular and frequent contact with buying influences
  • Decide who to call on and how often in order to provide consistent and effective contact with sales prospects
  • Attend industry trade shows as a Porzio Life Sciences representative – independently manage corporate booth and meet with existing clients
  • Provide ongoing services, sales information, and other customer support assistance to maintain positive customer relations
  • Perform special projects as assigned

Internal Communications

  • The incumbent will be required to keep all Porzio Life Sciences staff informed of sales activity with existing and potential clients. Communication is through team meetings, monthly reports, and informal discussions on a regular basis
  • Ensure the Sales Manager is updated on sales activity on a regular basis
  • Provide input and creativity to the sales plan, utilizing insights gained through continuous contact with industry representatives (sales contacts, client contact, affiliates)
  • Keep management informed on regional activity by submitting comprehensive monthly reports which may include sales successes, failures, competitive activity, performance vs. goal, impending sales successes, obstacles to success, customer complaints, next quarter’s revenue goal, number of sales calls, etc.
  • Utilize contact management software for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting within Salesforce
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer profiles, records, and files within Salesforce
  • Update research/client management staff of client expansion activities
  • Track and report travel and education expenses

Experience/Knowledge/Competencies You Will Need:

  • Minimum of 10 years of software sales experience required, preferably in the healthcare market
  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
  • Extensive pipeline management and strategic selling experience are also required
  • Ability to work with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to sustain good relationships with all support staff functions
  • Ability to travel for onsite customers meetings and industry events
  • Strong selling and account management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to present formal presentations
  • Very good negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
